BACKGROUND: : Restoration of eyelid animation and aesthetics is a major component of the surgical management of facial paralysis. The authors' experience with the minitendon graft (a piece of split palmaris tendon graft) for lower eyelid suspension is presented. BACKGROUND: Several complications are associated with healing after pelvic reconstructive surgery for stress urinary incontinence. These include infection, hemorrhage, erosion, and fistula formation.
CASE: A 67-year-old woman presented with simultaneously draining vaginal and suprapubic sinuses. Examination revealed a vagino-abdominal fistula. Surgical excision found an abscess around synthetic material from a previous bladder-neck suspension.
CONCLUSION: Unusual fistulation can occur remotely from anti-incontinence surgery, especially when graft materials are used.

PURPOSE: To report an unusual response to bilateral frontalis suspension surgery for congenital ptosis.
METHODS: Case report.
RESULTS: A 6-year-old child with infantile esotropia and bilateral congenital ptosis received a homologous fascia lata frontalis suspension. Rectal bleeding due to radiation proctosigmoiditis is often difficult to manage. We had earlier shown the efficacy of short-term therapy with topical sucralfate in controlling bleeding in the radiation proctosigmoiditis. We now report our long-term results with this form of therapy. The study comprised 26 patients with radiation proctosigmoiditis. OBJECTIVE: There are few reports on the medium- and long-term outcomes of laparoscopic suspension of the bladder neck.
METHODS: Our medium-term results in 24 patients with genuine stress urinary incontinence who underwent surgery from March, 1994 to July, 1996 are presented. The patients had a mean follow-up of 18 months.
