BACKGROUND: Tamoxifen therapy is related to endometrial adenocarcinoma. Bicornuate uteri are more common than assumed. There are a few reports of endometrioid carcinoma arising in a bicornuate uterus, but none of these discuss a serous papillary component or an association with tamoxifen therapy.

We report a rare case of twin pregnancy in the same horn of a bicornuate uterus. This patient's uterine malformation was detected for the first time when she experienced abdominal pain at 6 weeks of amenorrhea. A case of uterine cholesterol granuloma in a 12-year old mixed breed cat is reported. The lesions were found in the endometrium of the left uterine horn as scattered, raised nodules or foci. Histologically, mononuclear cell infiltrates were seen to surround cholesterol crystals, in both the endometrium and the smooth muscle layer, reaching the serosa. The findings support the role of haemorrhage in promoting chronic inflammatory reactions around interstitial cholesterol ester precipitates.

We examined the number of MCs in various uterine smooth muscle tumors (including leiomyosarcomas) and assessed whether this feature might be of value in their pathologic diagnosis.
