There were investigated changes in the peripheral blood of rabbits under prolonged exposure to vibration (5, 10, 20, 30 days). In a separate series of experiments, the nature of changes in the peripheral blood was investigated under the combined action of vibration and stevia leaves. Contained in stevia biologically active substances were found to accelerate metabolism in bone marrow stem cells, promote the compensatory ability of the organism, thereby providing the resistance of the body to the vibration factor.

While tetracyclines are in active medical use, their bioactive atomic compositions are still questionable. New Hofmann type clathrates in the form of M(pp)(2)Ni(CN)(4)·2G (where pp = 1-phenylpiperazine, G = 1,4-dioxane and M = Ni, Co or Cd) have been prepared in powder form and their FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra are reported. The results suggest that the present compounds are similar in structure to the Hofmann type clathrates and their structures consist of conjugated polymeric layers of |M-Ni(CN)(4)|(∞) with the pp bound to the metal (M) atom.

Mucociliary clearance is compromised by airway surface liquid dehydration in respiratory disease states such as cystic fibrosis. Rehydration by hyperosmolar agents such as nebulised hypertonic saline and dry powder mannitol has demonstrated in vivo safety and efficacy for restoring mucociliary function. Calcinosis cutis is characterized by the deposition of calcium salts in the subcutaneous tissues. Both Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and Raman microspectroscopic analysis have been applied to easily get the chemical compositions of the skin calcified deposit (SCD), which was surgically excised from a female patient.
