Dupuytren contracture is a progressive disease involving collagen within the palmar fascia. When the contracture progresses to meet specific parameters, intervention is considered and includes collagenase injection, percutaneous or open fasciotomy, or palmar fasciectomy. PURPOSE: To introduce a novel technique for small-incision levator resection in ptosis surgery and evaluate its efficacy in a pilot study among patients affected by congenital or aponeurotic ptosis.
METHODS: We prospectively enrolled congenital and aponeurotic ptosis patients if their levator function was not poor (≥5 mm) from June 2021 through October 2022. Surgical technique involved a 1-cm lid crease incision, minimal dissection, and creating a loop passing through the tarsus and levator aponeurosis. Success was defined as postoperative MRD-1 ≥3 mm and inter-eyelid MRD-1 difference ≤1 mm.

PURPOSE: Prospective study evaluating outcomes of individually sutured platinum segment chains in upper eyelid loading.
METHODS: Single-centre, single-surgeon, prospective study. Upper eyelid loading with 0.4 and 0.2 g platinum segment chains for lagophthalmos. Segments were sutured to create a desired weight and attached to superior tarsus and distal levator aponeurosis following levator recession.
PRIMARY OUTCOME MEASURES: improvement in lagophthalmos and complications.

BACKGROUND: The management of large abdominal wall defects, such as omphalocele or gastroschisis, remains a challenge for pediatric surgeons.
