Cryptococcosis is an invasive fungal infection that is common in immunocompromised patients. A 22-year-old woman with Ewing sarcoma in the right proximal humerus was treated by resection and chemotherapy. Cryptococcosis presenting as endobronchial obstruction was scarce. We report a case of patient with cryptococcosis. A chest CT scan showed masses in the right upper lobe and right hilar, with evidence of narrowing of the right upper lobe bronchus. PET-CT scans showed the mass in the bronchus with the high mSUVs. Pulmonary infection by capsule-deficient Cryptococcus neoformans (CDCN) is a very rare form of pneumonia and it is seldom seen in the immunocompetent host. A healthy 27-year-old woman presented, four months after childbirth, ingravescent pain and claudication of the left lower limb. We report an HIV-positive patient with CNS cryptococcosis, diagnosis of which was based on detection of Cryptococcus neoformans by Indian ink staining and culture of CSF. MRI displayed dilated Virchow-Robin space in bilateral basal ganglia which were hypointense on T1-weighted images, hyperintense on T2-weighted images, and enhanced by gadolinium administration. In addition cryptococcoma in the cerebellum was observed by MRI. This finding may suggest a progression from cryptococcal meningitis to intraparenchymal invasion, accompanied with breakdown of the blood brain barrier.
