Pott's puffy tumor (PPT) represents a rare complication of frontal sinusitis, and it is considered as a subperiosteal abscess of the frontal bone based on osteomyelitis. We report two adult PPT patients and discuss the treatment plan as well as the correct timing of surgical intervention. Clinical examination revealed sinusitis with puss, and imaging findings showed bony erosion of the dorsal wall of the frontal sinus in both patients. The kidney carcinoma is the commonest tumour to metastasize to the head and neck. The majority of renal metastases occur in the nose and paranasal sinuses. This paper presents four cases of metastatic tumour in the nasal cavities, paranasal sinuses, frontal bone and piriform fossa. The difficulties in diagnosis and management was also presented.

Ultrasound diagnosis of the nasal accessory sinuses is an easy and rapid technique without side-effects for the patients. Basic techniques are demonstrated allowing examination of the maxillary and frontal sinuses. Furthermore, functional approaches are reported which in some cases can produce better results than radiography.

BACKGROUND: Synthetic, osteoconductive, and antimicrobial bioactive glass (BAG) has been used in many surgical applications.
METHODS: BAG was used as obliteration material in a series of osteoplastic frontal sinus operations on 42 patients suffering from chronic frontal sinusitis, which could not be cured with other means of treatment.
