We report the case of a diabetic patient with refractory anemia with excess blasts (RAEB) who developed bladder infection followed by orbital cellulitis and nodular skin lesions. After a short remission, the clinical aspect was complicated by corneal ulceration, scleromalacia, bulbar perforation and lens luxation.

The aim of this paper was to determine the morphotype of Marfan's syndrome based on the examination of three patients affected with this disease. After having described the clinical picture of our patients, we carried out anthropometric measurements with calculation of indexes. PURPOSE: To report the long-term surgical complications of transscleral sutured intraocular lens implantation in children.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Surgical procedure was performed in 10 children (17 eyes) with ectopia lentis, and in 16 children (21 eyes) with aphakia between July 1995 and December 1998. The mean age of implantation was 8.1 years (range 4 to 17). The Lewis method ab externo was used to suture 1-piece PMMA IOL in all cases. Average follow-up was 9.1 years (range 8 to 11 years).

The visualization of transparent perfluorocarbon liquid (PFCL) using triamcinolone acetonide is described. Intravitreal injection of triamcinolone acetonide enabled visualization of residual PFCL intraoperatively. In addition, it was shown that triamcinolone acetonide could visualize PFCL in an in vitro preparation of balanced salt solution. This in vitro experiment confirmed that triamcinolone acetonide also could be adsorbed by PFCL outside the vitreous. PURPOSE: The black iris-lens diaphragm (ILD) can be used in the treatment of traumatic aniridia and aphakia. The aim of our study was to show postoperative functional and anatomic results and complications in a small case series.
METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed the files of 16 patients managed with a black ILD or a sole iris diaphragm in the period 1994-2007. Four of them were female and 12 were male. We used a multivariate statistical analysis to identify factors predicting visual outcome in 281 eyes that underwent primary repair of a penetrating ocular injury.
