RATIONALE & OBJECTIVE: Sodium/glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors slow the progression of chronic kidney disease and prevent heart failure events. However, SGLT2 inhibitors may increase the risk for acute kidney injury (AKI).
