Second surgery was performed after the aggressive chemotherapy including cisplatin, VP16, cyclophosphamide, vincristine and doxorubicin. Two patients with primary plasma cell leukaemia who achieved complete remission are reported. Between October 1988 and November 1994, 100 patients with cutaneous metastases from malignant melanoma were treated by carbon dioxide laser ablation under local or general anaesthesia as appropriate. Scleromyxedema is a rare systemic disorder characterized by cutaneous sclerosis and papulosis, accompanied by deposition of mucin in the skin and other organs. We describe a case of scleromyxedema in a 62-year-old man. The cutaneous symptoms of the disorder were preceded by episodes of acute central nervous system dysfunction that included mental confusion, hemiparesis, tremor, and migraine. Fourteen patients with advanced ovarian epithelial carcinoma were treated with a combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
