Dental age estimation is common in orthodontics, paedodontics, paleodontology and forensic dentistry. The aim of this study was to assess chronological course of eruptive developmental phases of third molar and to establish parameters for the Croatian population. Infraocclusion is a condition frequently associated with primary molars. The infraoccluded primary teeth remain in a fixed position, while the teeth adjacent to them continue to erupt, moving occlusally. It is generally accepted that the cause of the altered occlusal level is ankylosis of the affected tooth. This report describes a case in which a short course of interceptive treatment with a 2 x 4 fixed appliance resulted in resolution of the infrocclusion. Recreating space for a severely infraoccluded second deciduous molar resulted in 'eruption' of the tooth without the need for extraction.

OBJECTIVE: To assess the treatment method and outcome of mesially or horizontally impacted mandibular molars.
METHODS: Eleven patients with mandibular impacted molars, including 9 horizontally impacted molars and 5 mesially impacted molars were treated with fixed appliance in conjunction with molar band soldered with pushing spring. Crowns of impacted molars were moved occlusally and distally.

A 6-year-old dog was presented for draining tracts associated with both mandibular first molar teeth. Radiographs of the affected teeth showed periapical bone lysis. Surgical tooth extractions were performed and the tooth segments were submitted for histopathologic examination. Microscopic evaluation of the teeth showed in folding of the enamel and dentin consistent with a diagnosis of dens invaginatus. Examination performed 13-months following the extraction procedures indicated uncomplicated healing at the extraction sites and no other visible evidence of endodontic disease.

Failure of eruption of permanent molars is an uncommon condition with a range of possible causative factors. This retrospective study of 35 pediatric subjects assesses the influence of these factors in the prognosis. The study aims to broaden our understanding of an abnormality, which has a considerable clinical impact, and proposes a treatment protocol for the management of these patients.

We aimed to find out whether extraction of lower premolars and subsequent closure of the space by a fixed appliance influenced the chances of mandibular third molars erupting. We compared angular and linear measurements of lower third molars on dental panoramic tomograms in 30 orthodontic patients with similar measurements from 30 patients with impacted third molars in intact arches.
