PURPOSE: Hereditary angioedema (HAE) is an important but uncommon differential diagnosis in patients presenting with unexplained recurrent abdominal attacks, including idiopathic acute pancreatitis (IAP). However, whether acute IAP itself transiently affects complement test results and complicates the evaluation of HAE remains unclear.
