We observed the influences of low-temperature storage of the feline epididymis on the epididymal semen qualities before and after cryopreservation to identify the optimal duration for low-temperature storage of the epididymis. We discuss two complexes of Cr(4+) for their possible utility as models for Cr toxicity studies. They are Cr(dien)(O2)2(.)H2O (dien = diethylenetriamine) and Cr(NH3)3(O2)2, which have been recently characterized by x-ray diffraction and magnetic techniques. CONTEXT: High-dose insulin has become a first-line therapy for treating severe calcium channel blocker and beta blocker toxicity. Insulin infusions used to treat other conditions (e.g., diabetic ketoacidosis) may be used, but this may lead to pulmonary compromise due to fluid volume overload. An obvious solution would be to use a more concentrated insulin infusion; however, data describing the stability of insulin in polyvinyl chloride bags at concentrations >1 unit/mL are not readily available.
