Diagnostic imaging has determined clinical application depending on kind of pathology and anatomical localisation. This is a precise and fine instrument for monitoring effects of treatment in childhood malignant tumours. Authors demonstrate examples of cases in which diagnostic imaging was the only method which revealed a relapse in situ, progression during chemotherapy or clinically unsuspected dissemination of tumours after many years.

OBJECTIVE: To study the clinicopathologic features, diagnosis and differential diagnosis of sinonasal teratocarcinosarcoma (SNTCS) and olfactory neuroblastoma (ONB), and to discuss the histogenesis and possible relationship between SNTCS and ONB.
METHODS: Seven cases of SNTCS and 34 cases of ONB were retrieved from the pathological archives together with one case each of malignant teratoma and immature embryonic tissue at 8 weeks were collected from Beijing Tongren Hospital. The clinicopathologic features were analyzed and immunohistochemical staining was performed on paraffin sections.

AIM: The aim of this study was to evaluate the endocrine complications, in particular disorders of growth and thyroid function and glucose metabolism dysfunctions in patients treated with allo- and auto-haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT).

He died of superior vena cava syndrome caused by a rapidly enlarged anterior mediastinum tumor eight months after initial symptoms.
