We report a serious complication following a TVT-Secur procedure due to injury of the corona mortis requiring a surgical intervention for removal of 1 l of clotted blood from the space of Retzius. The corona mortis is an anomaly of the vessel combining the obturator and epigastric arteries passing over the superior pubic ramus, well known to hernia and orthopedic surgeons but probably less well known to gynecological surgeons.

AIM: To report our experience of the tension-free vaginal tape-obturator (TVT-O) procedure for the treatment of severe female urodymanic stress incontinence (USI) during 2 years of follow-up.
METHODS: Between January 2005 and June 2007, 67 women with severe USI who underwent the TVT-O procedure were enrolled in the study. The objective of this study was to evaluate the long-term complications of the intravaginal slingplasty (IVS) operation for stress urinary incontinence in women operated 5 years ago. Out of 25 operated patients, seven patients experienced erosion up to 5 years after the primary operations. In six patients, parts of the tape had to be removed several times. Two patients developed a suprapubic abscess. We recommend that the IVS tape is abandoned.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of a butterfly shaped mesh in treatment of stress urinary incontinence (SUI).
METHODS: From July 2003 to January 2004, 82 patients with SUI were treated with a butterfly shaped mesh. All patients were followed up at 1st, 3rd, 6th month after operation. According to their complaints, the cure standard of urinary incontinence is that the patient can control micturate by herself. The improved is that the times and volume of urinary incontinence is less than before. The inefficacy is that the patients' symptoms is not improved even more than before.
