In this article presented results of examination and treatment of 30 patients with suspected neuroendocrine tumors (NEO) of the pancreas during the period from 2007 to 2010. In the 22 cases were identified solitary pancreatic tumor, and 4 observations--multiple. Functioning NEO were detected in 19 observations, dysfunctional--7. As ultrasound beam does not penetrate the air, it has long been thought that ultrasound imaging is not useful for evaluation of the pulmonary parenchyma. However, recent studies have shown that the artifact pattern generated by the lung can be used for the diagnosis of acute respiratory failure. Lung ultrasonography can provide us important informations inside the lung in a real-time fashion. Furthermore, general application of extended ultrasonography would be of greater benefit for perioperative diagnosis and intervention.

We report three rare cases of sclerosing angiomatoid nodular transformation (SANT) in the spleen. We compared the conventional and contrast-enhanced ultrasonographic appearance. The conventional sonographic examinations exhibited solitary lesions without common respects, while contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) revealed nodular appearance mimicking its pathologic characteristics. It suggests that CEUS can provide morphologic information for diagnosing SANT.

Frequency of chronic gastroduodenal motility disorders and possibilities of ultrasound diagnostics of biliopancreatoduodenal zone in patients with gastroduodenal ulcers were studied. 95 patients, aged 20-78 years, were included in the study. Changes of echomorphology of the liver, gall bladder and pancreas reflected the severity of ulcer disease. Duodenal motility disorders defined the secondary nature of pathologic changes in involved biliopancreatic structures.

BACKGROUND: Ultrasound is an emerging tool in the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). THE AIM of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic role of ultrasound n the CTS.

Results of diagnosis and treatment of 2576 patients with focal lesions of the liver are analyzed. Differential ultrasound characteristics for all studied types of liver focal lesions are worked out. The effectiveness of the ultrasound investigation amounted for echinococcosis 91-95%, non-hydatid cysts--95.5%, hepatic tumors--99%, hepatic abscesses--87% and for the hemangioma of the liver--76.3%.
