One of tongue disorders is geographic tongue (GT), which classic manifestation is an area of erythema, with atrophy of filiform papillae of the tongue, surrounded by a serpiginous, white, hyperkeratotic border. Saliva is a rich source of antioxidant and fulfills an important role in maintaining the normal function of the oral cavity.
