BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: To investigate the course of the intraocular pressure (IOP) in nonglaucomatous patients with pseudoexfoliation (PSX) syndrome after cataract surgery.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: In a prospective age-matched controlled clinical study, 23 consecutive patients with PSX were studied and compared with a control group of 23 patients. Avulsion of the optic nerve is an infrequent traumatic event which results in a permanent and usually devastating loss of vision. We present two cases which highlight the salient features of partial and complete optic nerve avulsion. The clinical findings, including the results of B-scan ultrasonography, fluorescein angiography, and computed tomography (CT) are discussed. In addition, the past two decades of literature pertaining to optic nerve avulsion are reviewed and summarized.

PURPOSE: To investigate the possible association between acquired ectropion uveae and blunt trauma to the eye. We present 3 cases of acquired ectropion uveae that occurred after blunt trauma to the eye. There are no previously published data on possible association of these conditions.

We report a case of nanophthalmos with intractable secondary glaucoma. Bilateral cataract extraction with intraocular lens implantation was used as definitive treatment for the chronic angle-closure glaucoma. The changes in angle and ciliary body anatomy were well documented with preoperative and postoperative Pentacam assessment (Oculus Optikgeräte GmbH) and ultrasound biomicroscopy (Paradigm Medical Industries) images. We believe these are the first diagnostic and prognostic images of this kind in a nanophthalmic eye.

Photoscreening is designed to detect abnormalities in children's eye, particularly abnormal refractive errors, which can lead to amblyopia.
