Recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (rhG-CSF) induced migration across polycarbonate filters of human polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN). rhG-CSF was active in inducing PMN migration at concentrations greater than or equal to 10 to 100 U/mL (7 to 70 ng/mL). rhG-CSF did not contain appreciable levels of endotoxin contamination as assessed by Limulus amebocyte assay, and Polymixin B did not affect the chemotactic activity of rhG-CSF. We report an unusual case of bilateral ureteral obstruction secondary to granulocytic sarcoma of the uterine cervix. Proximal urinary diversion followed by radiation therapy to the tumor relieved the obstruction. The need for prompt diagnosis and treatment of this rare neoplasm is stressed.

138 CGL-patients were treated in 1974-1984. The female-male ratio was 1.26. Tumour lysis syndrome is a well-known complication of lymphoid malignancies, but it has rarely been described in myeloproliferative disorders. A patient is reported with myeloblastic type of accelerated chronic granulocytic leukaemia who developed a tumour lysis syndrome following intensive chemotherapy. The most prominent manifestation of such a syndrome was hypocalcaemia, which was associated with other biochemical alterations, including hyperphosphataemia, hyperuricaemia and renal failure.

A monoclonal antibody, MI/N1, is described that reacts predominantly with fresh neuroblastoma tissue, human neuroblastoma cell lines, and cells of the myeloid lineage. Investigation of the binding of this antibody to four different neuroblastoma cell lines showed CHP 100 bound approximately 4 times more antibody than CHP 126. Granulocytic sarcoma, or chloroma, is a tumor composed of immature cells of the myeloid series, which usually occurs as a secondary manifestation of acute myelocytic leukemia. Unique problems in interpretation of these lesions arise when the leukemic picture is absent in peripheral blood and bone marrow.
