Pyogenic granuloma is a noncancerous inflammatory tumor of the skin or mucous membranes. The most frequent causes include hormonal changes, drugs, or localized chronic inflammation. We report the case of an 11-year-old girl who presented with a bleeding gingival swelling and no significant medical history. The pyogenic granuloma presented as a sessile, lobulated, and violaceous lesion with fibrinous ulcerations and telangiectasias. The tumor recurred despite six surgical excisions. In this case report, we treated the latest recurrence with topical corticosteroids and triamcinolone injections,

Palisaded encapsulated (solitary circumscribed) neuromas (PENs) are relatively common intraoral neurogenic tumors, which occur most frequently on the hard palate. Herein, we describe the clinicopathological characteristics of a palisaded encapsulated neuroma of the tongue. This tumor was an exophytic sessile mass measuring 0.3× 0.4 cm with rubbery consistency on the anterior one-third of the dorsum of the tongue. The tumor was excised under the impression of a pyogenic granuloma (PG). No recurrence was reported at 12 months postoperatively. Histopathological examination showed a well-circumscr

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is a benign vascular neoplasm most often evident as a rapidly developing solitary, sessile, or polypoid vascular nodule or tumor prone to ulceration or hemorrhage. Bleeding may be episodic, copious, and refractory to pressure, mandating treatment, particularly when on the lip. We describe a 14-year-old adolescent with a PG of the lower lip that responded to carbon dioxide slush cryosurgery, an option that may be of considerable value in a resource-poor country.

A child developed multiple Beau's lines and periungueal pyogenic granulomas after admission to the intensive care unit. Immobilization, hypoxia, and drugs might have acted as potential causative factors.

Pyogenic granulomas are benign lesions commonly found on the skin and mucosal surfaces. Although the etiology of pyogenic granuloma is not well understood, some reports have suggested that PG may be caused by impaired wound healing following tissue injury. Rare cases of pyogenic granulomas in the setting of local foreign body have been reported in the literature. Although foreign body reactions have not been identified as a cause of pyogenic granuloma, these reports evidence the need to further investigate this association. We present a 33-year-old man who presented with a pyogenic granuloma o

We present a case of partially involuting congenital hemangioma (PICH) that showed rapid growth with ulceration after incisional biopsy. PICH does not typically grow after birth. However, if growth occurs due to stimuli like biopsy, it is essential to consider the possibility of pyogenic granuloma complication.

BACKGROUND: Lobular capillary hemangiomas typically present as skin or oral mucosa lesions and have rarely been described in unusual sites, including the gastrointestinal tract. Most colonic lobular capillary hemangiomas, either asymptomatic or associated with GI bleeding, have been amenable to endoscopic treatment in literatures. Case Presentation. A 41-year-old woman presented with an incidental colonic mass during a systemic workup after adjuvant chemotherapy for HER2-positive breast cancer. Abdominal computed tomography revealed a deep seated colonic mass in the splenic flexure. An endosco

Pyogenic granuloma represents an exuberant connective tissue proliferation due to a chronic stimulus or injury. Aetiological factor for this lesion may sometimes be hard to identify, but the fact that it is usually located close to the gingival margin suggests that calculus, food materials and overhanging restorations are important irritants. It rarely grows more than 2 cm in diameter and usually does not cause any changes in the alveolar bone. We report an unusual case of pyogenic granuloma with unknown aetiology that presented as an extraordinarily large sessile bilobular lesion and showed a

BACKGROUND: There are various therapeutic options for the treatment of pyogenic granuloma (PyG), but the results are frequently unsatisfactory, especially at difficult sites and with extensive lesions.
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the success of treatment of PyG using the 1,064-nm neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser and to compare it with state-of-the-art treatment methods.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Twenty patients with PyG were treated using the long-pulsed 1,064-nm Nd:YAG laser with fluences of 60 to 180 J/cm(2) , a spot size of 7 mm, and a pulse duration of 40 ms. One to four tr

INTRODUCTION: Pyogenic granulomas are common benign vascular lesions found on exposed skin in children. Treatment in darker skin types can be challenging because of increased epidermal melanin absorption and the associated risk of collateral thermal injury.
OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of a 577-nm diode laser for the treatment of pyogenic granuloma in patients with dark skin types.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: Nine patients with pyogenic granuloma and skin types IV-V were enrolled in this prospective case series. They were treated every two weeks with a 577 nm diode laser using a

UNLABELLED: Pyogenic granuloma is one of the benign vascular neoplasms seen in the first and second decade of life, with a female predilection. Pyogenic granuloma presents as a small reddish exophytic lesion, gingiva being the commonest site. This report presents a case of recurrent episodes of pyogenic granuloma at a different site at different time intervals in an 8-year-old girl child which was found to be an unusual presentation, and it highlights the importance of early diagnosis and management of the pyogenic granuloma to avoid the discomfort.

Vascular anomalies include both tumors and malformations. Infantile hemangiomas are the most common benign vascular tumor of infancy that proliferate after birth and eventually involute. By contrast, congenital hemangiomas are formed at birth and are categorized into three groups: rapidly involuting, partially-involuting, and non-involuting congenital hemangiomas (NICH). NICH do not regress and grow with age. Pyogenic granulomas, another acquired vascular tumor, develop over vascular lesions and cause bleeding. Primary treatment options for NICH and pyogenic granulomas are surgical resection.

Pyogenic granuloma (PG) is an acquired benign vascular tumor of unknown etiology. In the present case report, PG was detected in a 49-year-old Chinese male patient with chronic plaque psoriasis. The psoriasis lesions on the finger where the granuloma had developed had been scratched excessively, as declared by the patient. No retinoid therapeutic agents were used during treatment. The patient responded poorly to cryotherapy and surgical curettage. However, following one session of 5-aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy (ALA-PDT), signs of improvement were demonstrated 1 week after the trea
