INTRODUCTION: Patients with inflammatory bowel disease are at high risk for opportunistic infections, and fungal infections are relatively uncommon among various infections.
CASE: This case is the first reported ulcerative colitis accompanied with Cryptococcus neoformans infection after infliximab treatment. In the course of the disease, the patients had a variety of opportunistic infections, including viruses, fungi and bacteria.
CONCLUSION: This case highlights the importance of paying continued attention to opportunistic infections for patients with inflammatory bowel disease.

Immunoglobulin A vasculitis (IgAV) is the most common childhood vasculitis affecting small vessels. No clear recommendations are available for severe pediatric cases, and until now, anti-TNF agents have had a limited role in IgAV management. In this report, we describe a pediatric case of severe IgAV, successfully treated with combined therapy including the anti-TNF, infliximab.

Mycobacterium haemophilum is a rarely encountered pathogen that is difficult to identify given its unique growth requirements. It is most often seen in adult patients who are immunosuppressed due to advanced HIV or haematological malignancy. Our case highlights a typical presentation of an atypical pathogen in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis receiving anti-tumour necrosis factor therapy. This case represents an important patient population in whom this previously rare infection is increasingly common.
