We present a case of 35-year old left-handed woman with recurrent giant-cell tumour affecting 1/4 of the distal part of the left ulna, with associated ulnar nerve involvement. After resection of the tumour and 1 cm of the ulnar nerve, the distal ulna was reconstructed with an individually designed and matched prosthesis, followed by ulnar nerve reconstruction. At 12 months follow-up the patients was free of pain, had excellent recovery of ulnar nerve function, satisfactory wrist range of motion and moderately impaired function of the left hand (DASH score 42). We present a case of primary hyperparathyroidism in a 47 year old woman. The pre-operative 99mTc-sestaMIBI scan detected a single parathyroid adenoma located in the anterior or medium mediastinum. Surgery was carried out following 99mTc-sestaMIBI administration and using gamma probe radio-guided video-assisted thoracoscopy. The aim of this case report is to present this technique that allows adenoma resection with minimally invasive surgery. A reduction of surgical complications and an increase in the probability of surgical success could be obtained.

The authors report a case of radial deviated hand following fracture of the distal forearm bones in a seven year old child who was not followed-up after minimal initial treatment. They discuss the mechanism of this deformity due to growth disturbances affecting the extremities of the two bones of the forearm, especially the distal radius which stopped growing at the time of the accident, resulting in relative-shortening of the radius of 25 mm in relation to the ulna and 90 mm in relation to the healthy side.
