RATIONALE: Parasitic eosinophilic meningitis is rarely observed in infants. The diagnosis of this disease is complicated by its atypical and severe clinical manifestations.
PATIENT CONCERNS: An infant presented to our hospital with high fever and irritability, as well as refusal to walk. Cerebrospinal fluid collected through lumbar puncture showed increased eosinophil count and third-stage Angiostrongylus cantonensis larvae.
DIAGNOSES: Eosinophilic meningitis was suspected.

Psychiatric disorders are common among dermatology patients. They may be secondary to skin disease but also can be the primary cause of cutaneous concerns. Because patients with primary psychiatric disorders who present to dermatology often refuse referral to mental health providers, dermatologists are challenged with management of various psychiatric conditions, such as delusional infestation and trichotillomania. Effective, evidence-based treatments are available for psychodermatologic disorders, and dermatologists should be comfortable with their implementation.

Four patients with HIV infection were diagnosed as having panarteritis nodosa type vasculitis in muscle samples taken by biopsy. Fever, weight loss and neuromuscular symptoms were the major complaints. All but one were successfully treated with a low dose of prednisone. The other patient refused treatment, but her muscular complaints did not worsen during 9 months of follow-up. Previously reported cases in the literature are reviewed.

Patients with Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) have been effectively treated with intravenous cytarabine. Intravenous or subcutaneous cytarabine infusions have been effective for leukemia patients, and pharmacokinetic studies have shown very similar blood levels of the drug with either route. We are reporting a two-year and nine-month-old boy who had a coronavirus disease (COVID) infection and then presented with a refusal to walk. Of 209 cases of pleomorphic adenoma treated in a 30 year period, 38 were secondary referrals with recurrent disease following surgery. Of these, 25 were women and 13 men with a mean time to recurrence of 9 years 4 months. Petrous apicitis is a rare intracranial complication of otitis media. A 4-year-old female child was presented with persistent ear discharge, retro-orbital pain and lateral rectus palsy (triad of Gradenigo's syndrome). A right temporal burr-hole was placed and tapping was done under antibiotic coverage. Turbid cerebrospinal fluid could be drained. Follow-up could not be done as the patient refused treatment and was discharged against medical advice.

One hundred and three patients with carcinoma in situ in the rectum, rectosigmoid and sigmoid colon were evaluated retrospeactively. The majority of the lesions occurred within an adenomatous polyp.
