We report of a solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) of the vagina and discuss the differential diagnosis. This is the first SFT documented, to our knowledge. SFTs should be included in the differential diagnosis of fibroblastic, myofibroblastic, and neural lesions of the skin, subcutaneous tissue, and mucosa and can be distinguished from other spindle cell neoplasms at those sites.

A study was designed to assess the clinical characteristics and diagnostic cytological accuracy of an endometrial sampler, the Endo-pap (Monoject; Sherwood Medical, St Louis, Mo., USA), a disposable plastic curette. The Endo-pap was compared with the Accurette (Rolon, Watford, UK), another plastic endometrial sampler used for histological investigation. An 11-year biopsy material from the vagina is presented. The indication for taking the 370 vaginal biopsies was abnormal cytology, polyps, or suspicion of tumor tissue. The material was found to include 10 cases of intraepithelial neoplasia, viz. 4 primary, 6 secondary, and 2 late cases of secondary invasive carcinoma. The interval between the primary and secondary diagnosis ranged from 7 months to 19 years. It is concluded that the risk of secondary changes in the vaginal mucosa is slight, but cytological follow-up is recommended.

Colpohysterectomy is sometimes associated with a large upper colpectomy resulting in a shortened vagina, potentially impacting sexual function. We report on a preliminary experience of a laparoscopic colpoplasty to restore a normal vaginal length. OBJECTIVE: In this study, we compared the workflow of the Genius Digital Diagnostics System (Hologic, Inc) with our current workflow based on the ThinPrep Imaging System (Hologic, Inc) to assess potential efficiencies associated with digitalization of Papanicolaou screening.
METHODS: Each step of the current workflow (glass slide movement and slide review) and the experimental workflow were documented. Substantial workflow efficiencies were associated with the reduction of glass slide movement observed with the experimental workflow of the Genius system compared with the ThinPrep system.

Objectives: The race, age, and region-stratified incidence of vulvar (VUC) and vaginal (VAC) cancers with different histology were unclear.
