Between 1988 and 1990, 500 claimants were assessed and considered to have vibration white finger (VWF). Of these, 137 were under 45 years of age and none had Dupuytren's contracture of the remaining 363, 311 were aged 50-85 years, and of these 62 (19.9 per cent) had Dupuytren's contracture. The nevus spongiosus albus mucosae (resp. white sponge nevus in the angloamerican literature) is a hereditary leukokeratosis localised preferably in the oral mucosa, but may simultaneously manifest itself in other regions, e.g. perianally. We report the case of a 18-year old patient with a primarily and exclusively extraorally located nevus spongiosus albus mucosae of the vulva. The differential diagnosis and clinical as well as therapeutical problems of this extremely rare disease are discussed.

The present study was conducted to assess the relationship between hostility and white space responses on the Rorschach. The Rorschach was administered individually to 80 volunteer students on the university campus. 71 subjects were undergraduates and 9 were graduates. The mean age for the group was 24 yr. Among the males, 19 were white and 4 were non-white; among the females, 49 were white and 8 were non-white. Fatal myopathy similar to "capture myopathy" described for African game was diagnosed in a wild white-tailed deer. Clinical signs included depression, inability to rise or stand, and myoglobinuria. Values for serum creatine phosphokinase, glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, and blood urea nitrogen were high. The deer died 42 hours after capture.
