In three patients with immunoglobulin G4-related dacryoadenitis and sialoadenitis (IgG4-DS), we assessed the changes in the hardness of affected submandibular glands by the real-time tissue elastography at baseline and 2 weeks after the initiation of treatment with oral glucocorticoids. Elastography revealed "blue" meaning to be a hard tissue matched the hypoechoic areas inside the enlarged submandibular glands before treatment. Tearing and lacrimal pathologies are very frequent motives of consultation. The pediatrician must know the congenital dacryocele, and nasolacrimal duct obstruction by the Hasner valve imperforation, which represents the main reason of tearing of the infant. Nasolacrimal duct obstruction is treated by probing by the ophthalmologist from the third month and by probing with silicone intubation in case of failure, or in the children of more than one year old.

Chronic sclerosing dacryoadenitis and chronic sclerosing sialadenitis have been shown to belong to the group of diseases referred to as IgG4-related sclerosing disease. The authors report a case of the simultaneous occurrence of IgG4-related sclerosing disease in both lacrimal and submandibular glands, clinically simulating malignant lymphoma. A cervical lymph node and a Warthin's tumor were also involved. This unique case of multiple organ involvement in IgG4-related sclerosing disease is documented.

INTRODUCTION: Wegener's granulomatosis is a necrotizing granulomatous vasculitis characterized by the involvement of the upper airways, lungs and kidneys.
CASE REPORT: A 39-year-old man presented with a 8-month history of proptosis of left eye. He had a history of recuring sinusitis and dyspnea. The diagnosis of Wegener's granulomotosis was confirmed by the nasal biopsy. A complete remission was achieved after treatment with corticosteroids, cyclophosphamide and trimethoprine sulfamethoxazole.

OBJECTIVE: Report of two uncommon ocular manifestations of relapsing polychondritis (PR).
METHODS: A 53 year-old woman presented with a uveal effusion. Diagnosis of PR was made 17 years later. A case of PR in a 41 year-old man is reported. The ocular manifestation was a pseudotumor of the lacrimal gland.
CONCLUSION: The relapsing polychondritis must be known by the ophthalmologists. The ocular manifestations of this uncommon disease are significative and inflammatory.
