Piezoelectric immunosensors on the basis of homologous and group-specificantibodies have been developed for detecting penicillin G, ampicillin, and the total content of penicillin antibiotics. The receptor coating of the sensor was obtained by the immobilization of penicillin G or ampicillin hapten-protein conjugates on the polypyrrole film obtained by electropolymerization and activated by glutaraldehyde. Earlier investigations have demonstrated that antibodies generated against the N-terminal (10-17) and C-terminal (200-207) ends of chicken riboflavin carrier protein (RCP; 219 AA), but not towards the internal region (172-179), curtail pregnancy establishment in rodents and sub-human primates. In those studies, epitope peptides conjugated to diphtheria toxoid were used as immunogens. In the present study, linkage of these sequences to extraneous carriers was avoided to rule out the possibility of carrier-mediated suppression of hapten-specific antibody production in long-term immune response.

This article describes the enterobacterial common antigen (ECA) content in the liver and spleen extracts from immunosuppressed two months old CFW mice which received a single dose (400 mg/kg body weight) of cyclophosphamide (CY). A complement fixation inhibition assay was used to measure the tissular concentration of ECA. We studied the effects of biotinylation on three monoclonal antibodies (Mabs) that were raised against carrier protein conjugates of human defensin HNP-1, and of rabbit defensins NP-2 and NP-5 respectively.
