Artificial intelligence (AI) and radiomics show significant potential to augment bladder cancer (BC) MRI but face a critical translational gap. This scoping review of 79 studies maps a rapidly growing field dominated by retrospective, single-center designs lacking external validation. While diagnostic performance for staging is promising (AUC up to 0.99 in ideal settings), robust multi-center studies report more realistic AUCs of 0.85-0.95, positioning AI as a complement to VI-RADS, especially for equivocal cases. Evidence supports integration via simplified protocols (T2w-only) and workflow t

BACKGROUND: Factor VII deficiency is considered a contraindication to neuraxial anesthesia due to the risk of an epidural hematoma.
CASE REPORT: A 32 year old G1P0 parturient with severe factor VII deficiency presented for an anesthesiology consultation at 32 weeks gestation. Initial coagulation studies were significant for an elevated INR (2.0) and a low factor VII level of 6%. After interdisciplinary discussion, it was decided that neuraxial analgesia could be offered if her coagulation studies corrected after administration of recombinant activated factor VII (rFVIIa). The patient presente

Neuroplegia was born from a physiopathological study of states of shock and research on inhibition of the autonomic reaction to aggression. Over the last 25 years, the experimental facts have become accumulated in favour of the first theory of H. Laborit, i.e. that this so-called defence reaction defended our lives only through conservation of motor activity in the environment. When this motor activity is inefficacious or useless, the neuroendocrine reaction may lead, during the acute phase, to states of shock and to chronic psychosomatic pathology. On this general theme, inhibition of this re

INTRODUCTION: Critically ill patients experience high levels of psychological distress; however, the recognition and management of psychological distress in the intensive care unit (ICU) remain underexplored. A concept analysis of psychological distress exists for some patient populations but none in critical care. The aim of this concept analysis was to clarify the contextual character of psychological distress in ICU patients, thereby improving recognition and management practices.
METHODS: Rodgers' evolutionary approach aided a deeper examination of psychological distress in the critical c

INTRODUCTION: Hereditary leiomyomatosis with renal cell carcinoma (HLRCC) is a rare autosomal dominant syndrome characterized by cutaneous leiomyomas, uterine fibroids, and an increased risk of type2 renal cell carcinoma. It originates from germline mutations in the fumarate hydratase (FH) gene, which encodes the enzyme of the same name. Deficiency of this enzyme leads to the accumulation of fumarate, an oncogenic metabolite. We present the case of a 65-year-old man with multiple cutaneous leiomyomas detected in primary care. The aim is to analyze his diagnostic classification, highlight the u

Positive treatment expectations demonstrably shape treatment outcomes regarding pain and disability in patients with chronic low back pain. However, knowledge about positive and negative treatment expectations as putative predictors of interindividual variability in treatment outcomes is sparse, and the role of other psychological variables of interest, especially of depression as a known predictor of long-term disability, is lacking. We present results of the first prospective study considering expectations in concert with depression in a sample of 200 patients with chronic low back pain unde

Artificial intelligence (AI) holds great promise for improving systematic reviews, particularly as the number of reviews keeps growing. A solution to keep systematic reviews up to date are the so-called living systematic reviews. Although they could be a solution, they currently face challenges regarding everything having to be done manually. A potential solution could be AI-driven reviews that automate each step, from literature searching and translation to data extraction and analysis. Potentially, AI could search through large amounts of studies, sort them by relevance, and extract relevant
