Abstract- Sensitisation to the house dust mite, Dermatophagoides farinae, was demonstrated by skin testing and allergen-specific IgG determination in 15 out of 20 dogs in which a definitive diagnosis of sarcoptic mange was made following recovery of Sarcoptes scabiei mites on skin scrapings. After therapy, no dogs exhibited clinical signs of atopic dermatitis. Intradermal skin testing and 40 per cent of specific IgG assays for Dermatophagoides farinae were negative 90-180 DAys after the original diagnosis. BACKGROUND: A model of peanut food allergy has been developed in mice using a simple sensitization protocol leading to a quantitatively measurable allergic response.
METHODS: C3H/HeJ mice received a single intragastric administration of whole peanut (80 mg) without adjuvant. Two weeks later, intraperitoneal challenge with peanut extract led to a severe anaphylaxis.

This article presents a case report of perioperative anaphylaxis in a previously nonallergic 44-year-old man undergoing cervical spine surgery. Chlorhexidine, an antiseptic belonging to family of biguanides, is used extensively in the medical and surgical environment. Late onset hypersensitivity and eczema occur regularly and are well documented events. OBJECTIVE: To describe a patient referred for evaluation of immunodeficiency whose clinical course is explained by severe Simuliidae hypersensitivity.

The present study was designed to assess the in vivo activity of Sch 29482, a new penem antibiotic, against disseminated and localized Treponema pallidum infections in rabbits. Animals were inoculated either intravenously or intradermally. This paper aims to establish the diagnostic reliability of the Prick test and its correlation to other techniques used in allergologic diagnosis: intracutaneous testing, RAST, hemagglutination, histamine liberation test. We report two cases of anaphylactoid shock caused by chlorhexidine gluconate. Both patients had skin flare, severe hypotension and increased airway pressure during cannulation of an antibacterial IVH catheter containing chlorhexidine gluconate after skin sterilization with chlorhexidine gluconate. Atmospheric pollen and spore contents in Szeged were determined with Lanzoni Sampler from July to October in 1989. Late-summer pollen calendar for Szeged was produced on the basis of this pollen counting.
