Streaming Media as a Clinical Resource for Nursing Practice: Therapeutic Elements from Analysis of Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters.

Psychosocial support is becoming increasingly important for both patients and caregivers during their illness recovery journey. While various self-care strategies can be recommended by healthcare professionals (HCPs) like nurses, such as exercise and relaxation techniques, systematic guidance for evaluating the therapeutic potential of streaming media (SM) is still lacking. Patients engage with entertainment media on streaming platforms daily. Among these, Korean Wave (K-wave) content, including Korean pop (K-pop) and drama (K-drama), has gained global reach in recent years. Music therapy and

Are practice nurse-led patient consultations acceptable for the general population in Germany? Results from a population-based survey.

BACKGROUND: Delegating tasks from the general practitioners (GPs) to practice nurses (PNs) may support healthcare challenges. While PN-led care is well accepted in countries with established models, transferability to Germany remains unclear. Qualitative data suggest openness towards PN-led consultations (PNLC), but quantitative evidence is scarce. OBJECTIVES: To assess willingness, condition-specific preferences, and influencing factors towards PNLC in general population. METHODS: We conducted a cross-sectional online survey within the HeReCa-Study panel between July to September 2023 using

Nurses' Knowledge, Attitudes, Practices and Perceived Barriers to Early Mobilization of Patients in Intensive Care Units in Southeastern Iran.

BACKGROUND: Early mobilization (EM) in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) is a well-established strategy to mitigate complications of immobility, including ICU-acquired weakness, delirium and prolonged hospitalization. Despite strong clinical evidence and guideline recommendations supporting its safety and efficacy-even for mechanically ventilated patients-EM remains underutilized globally. Nurses, as frontline caregivers, play a pivotal role in EM implementation; however, gaps in their knowledge, attitudes and practices, along with perceived barriers, hinder its routine application, particularly in

Psychometric evaluation of the Indonesian version of the confidence scale among primary healthcare nurses in dengue-related prevention practice.

BACKGROUND: Confidence may influence nurses' clinical practice. In dengue-endemic countries such as Indonesia, dengue infection prevention represents a core component of dengue-related practice among primary healthcare (PHC) nurses. However, validated Indonesian instruments for assessing nurses' confidence in dengue-related prevention practice are limited. Therefore, this study aimed to translate and evaluate the psychometric properties of the Indonesian version of a Confidence Scale (C-Scale-I). METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted between May and August 2024 among nurses working i

Advancing Nursing Practice and Health Equity for Marginalized People Living With HIV in Canada: An Intersectionality-Informed Policy Commentary.

Despite substantial advances in HIV treatment, persistent structural barriers and inequitable policy frameworks continue to disproportionately affect marginalized populations, perpetuating poor health outcomes. This article critically examines how public health policies and institutional practices fail to account for intersecting social identities, exacerbating compounded disadvantage among groups such as men who have sex with men, transgender individuals, sex workers, people who inject drugs, and racialized populations. Using Hankivsky Intersectionality-Based Policy Analysis framework, the an

Autonomous nurse practitioners in Florida frequently practice outside their legal scope of primary care: a cross-sectional study.

INTRODUCTION: Nurse practitioner (NP) organizations have advocated for expanding the NP scope of practice as a means of meeting the increasing demand for primary care services. Florida enacted the NP unsupervised practice of medicine (UPM) as part of House Bill 607 in July 2020, with the stipulation that autonomous NPs practice within primary care. The objective of this study was to determine the extent to which autonomous NPs in Florida have limited their scope of practice to primary care. METHODS: We obtained a database of the population of autonomous NPs in Florida on 27 August 2024 from t

Missed Nursing Care Infection Prevention and Control Practices in Acute Hospitals in Ireland During the COVID-19 Pandemic.

BACKGROUND: The nursing contribution to patient safety is often linked to their proximity to patients and ability to intervene when quality of care is compromised. However, the quality of nursing care provided also directly contributes to patient outcomes and is associated with increased rates of healthcare-associated infections. AIM: This study aimed to measure and compare nurses' perceptions of the frequency of and reasons for missed IPC practices in their workplaces and to examine nurses' perceptions of their ability to conduct IPC activities and their hospital capacity to support them. Exploration of Nurses' Preventive Practices for Aspiration Pneumonia Among Poststroke Patients at a Teaching Hospital in Ghana: A Qualitative Study.

INTRODUCTION: Patients who have experienced a stroke are at risk of developing aspiration pneumonia. The risk of aspiration pneumonia is often attributed to dysphagia, which is a condition observed in stroke patients due to the weakening of the muscles involved in swallowing. Nursing care related to oral hygiene, feeding, positioning, and mobilization can reduce the risk of aspiration pneumonia in poststroke patients. This study aims to explore nurses' experiences with prevention practices for aspiration pneumonia in poststroke patients. METHODS: This study employed a qualitative, exploratory
