[Evaluation of Multimodal Perioperative Care Pathway Supported by a Patient-facing Mobile App in Colorectal Surgery - First Clinical Experience and Patient Satisfaction].

BACKGROUND: Mobile health (mHealth) applications are gaining increasing importance in surgery, particularly for supporting prehabilitation, structured perioperative patient guidance, and post-discharge monitoring. However, in German-speaking countries, data on the systematic integration of such applications into routine surgical care remain limited. The aim of this pilot study was to evaluate the feasibility, user acceptance, and satisfaction associated with a newly developed multimodal perioperative patient app in colorectal surgery. METHODS: This prospective observational study included 14

Enhancing Patient Satisfaction and Trust Through Electronic Patient Portals: Mediating Effects of Patient-Centered Communication and Self-Care Skills Among Chinese Deaf and Hard-Of-Hearing Patients.

This study investigates the impact of Electronic Patient Portals (EPPs) on patient satisfaction and trust among Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) patients in China. Utilizing data from a sample of 317 DHH patients, the study employs regression analyses and mediation models to explore relationships among EPPs use, patient-centered communication (PCC), self-care skills, patient satisfaction, and trust in healthcare providers and institutions. The findings reveal that EPPs significantly enhance PCC (β=.388, p < .001). Improved PCC, in turn, boosts DHH patients' self-care skills (β=.177, p=.001), whi…

Patient satisfaction after penile prosthesis implantation in men aged ≥80 years: a single-center retrospective descriptive study.

Penile prosthesis implantation is an established treatment for medically refractory erectile dysfunction, but patient-reported outcomes in men aged ≥80 years remain underexplored. This retrospective single-center study descriptively evaluated satisfaction, functional device use, and postoperative complications among men aged ≥80 years who underwent penile prosthesis implantation between January 2015 and September 2025. Patients aged 75-79 years were included only to provide clinical context rather than to establish comparative equivalence. Satisfaction was assessed during in-person follow-up u

Despite the importance of patient-reported outcomes, their relationship with objective measures like the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) Model Grading System remains under investigated. This study aimed to assess post-orthodontic patient satisfaction and determine its association with objective treatment outcomes, as well as various demographic and clinical factors. METHODS: This observational cross-sectional analytical study…

Pain perception and patient satisfaction after conservative versus surgical low back pain management: Questionnaire-based comparative study.

Low back pain remains a leading cause of disability and uncertainty persists regarding optimal treatment selection between conservative and surgical approaches. A key reason that individuals have trouble deciding on the best route to take, surgical type or conservative type, as treatment options is because there is still a lack of clarity surrounding which type of treatment options to use. Therefore, it is of interest to analyse pain perception and patient satisfaction in 100 participants (50 patients receiving surgery, 50 patients receiving conservative treatment). Both conservative and surgi…
