SUMMARY: A case is presented in which severe alveolar bone necrosis resulted from leak-age of an arsenical devitalization paste into the periodontium. In this study, various phenotypes of infiltrating cells in the periodontium adjacent to pockets harboring Porphyromonas gingivalis and Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans were evaluated.
