BACKGROUND: The replacement of a single tooth or several teeth by means of single-implant restorations is an increasingly used method that needs long-term validation.
PURPOSE: The goal of this study was to evaluate the outcome of single-implant restorations by means of fixed restorations and to define the prognosis through marginal bone level estimations.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to test the retention of metal copings fabricated to fit on the one-groove, one flat-sided solid titanium abutment using six different cements.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Ten hollow screw 3.8 mm ITI implants were mounted in acrylic resin blocks. A solid titanium abutment was placed on each implant and torqued at 35 Ncm. Prefabricated burn-out caps were placed on the titanium abutment and wax loops added to the occlusal surface to allow for subsequent retention testing. All plastic caps were embedded in phosphate-bonded investment and cast with noble alloy.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate whether the conventional autologous fascial (AF) sling is superior or equal to the readjustable transobturator (TOT) sling in efficacy and safety in women with stress urinary incontinence (SUI).
STUDY DESIGN: This was a retrospective study comprised of a sample of 463 patients from 2003 to 2009. A total of 203 women received TOT slings for urodynamically confirmed SUI, and 260 patients received AF slings. We analyzed the subjective success rate (cure and/or improvement) after 12 and 24 months of surgery as well as any immediate and late surgical complications.

Eighty-six consecutive patients, provided with 84 resilient and two nonresilient overdentures (six in the upper and 80 in the lower jaw), were examined. The overdentures were supported by a total of 173 osseointegrated titanium fixtures (the standard Branemark abutment), with a mean loading time of 19.1 months (range 4 to 48 months). Since 1994, 15 cleft patients have received dental implants after treatment of the alveolar clefts by osteoplastic measures. Altogether 23 dental implants were undertaken. Twelve implants were inserted after tertiary osteoplasty, 7 with simultaneous repeat-osteoplasty, and another 4 implants following two-stage re-osteoplasty.
