Histoplasmosis occurs in approximately 5% of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) patients in endemic areas and often evolves to a disseminated picture if diagnosis is delayed and/or CD4 count falls below 150 cells x mm(3) without high active antiretroviral therapy (HAART). Cervicobrachial neuralgia. Cervicobrachial neuralgia is a common reason of rheumatologist consultation. It can be defined as cervicalgia associated with radicular pain of the upper limb, caused by a nerve compression. The most frequent cause is a soft disc herniation. Gravity signs have to be researched by a methodic physical exam: neurological deficit, medullar compression. Imagery is recommended: X-rays, tomodensitometry and/or MRI of cervical spine. The treatment is a combination of medicinal and non medicinal therapies, and in some cases, a surgical intervention is required.

The combination of amniotic fluid embolism and disseminated intravascular coagulation in obstetrics usually occurs at term associated with tumultuous labor. Maternal death almost inevitably follows. That these two crises may occur associated with abortion in herewith reported for the first time. Prompt recognition and aggressive appropriate therapy were responsible for patient survival with virtually no residual sequelae. Diagnosis was established on the basis of serial chest x-rays, pulmonary function tests, sputum, and serial blood studies.

The aim of the study was to define the role of serial chest radiographs (SCR) in the management of children with a clinical suspicion of pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) and to determine the interval at which they should be taken. BACKGROUND: Cabergoline, a dopamine agonist used to treat hyperprolactinemia, is associated with an increased risk of fibrotic adverse reactions, e.g. cardiac valvular fibrosis, pleuropulmonary, and retroperitoneal fibrosis.
OBJECTIVE: This study evaluated the prevalence and risk of fibrotic adverse reactions during cabergoline therapy in hyperprolactinemic and acromegalic patients.
DESIGN: A cross-sectional study was conducted in a University Hospital.
