Ketamine is a dissociative anaesthetic agent that is still widely used in veterinary and human medicine. It is increasingly being used as a recreational hallucinogenic drug. Chronic ketamine abuse is known to account for lower urinary tract symptoms and urinary bladder dysfunction. There is now emerging evidence that ketamine misuse is also associated with abnormal liver function tests and biliary tract abnormality. We studied the role of selective suppression of liver Kupffer cells (gadolinium chloride, 14 mg/kg intravenously) in the development of intrahepatic cholestasis in CBA/C57B1/6 mice after intraperitoneal injection of alpha-naphthylisothiocyanate in a single dose of 200 mg/kg. Pretreatment with gadolinium chloride increased the severity of cholestasis and signs of liver damage. Botrioid rhabdomyosarcoma of the extrahepatic bile ducts is a rare cause of jaundice in children. It has a very poor prognosis and is rarely diagnosed preoperatively. We report a choledochal botrioid rhabdomyosarcoma in a 22-month-old boy who developed an obstructive jaundice. Radiographic explorations suggested cystic lymphangioma. The gallbladder, the cystic duct, the common bile duct and the pancreatic head were resected. The diagnosis was made on pathological examination; adjuvant chemotherapy followed. The patient was disease free 20 months following treatment.

We describe a case of a 21-year-old male bodybuilder who overdosed on Parabolan (trenbolone acetate) because of its anabolic activity. The patient, with no previous medical history, experienced pruritus and yellow discoloration of the skin and sclerae. This report describes an unusual case of right-sided congenital diaphragmatic hernia discovered fortuitously in a 45-year-old woman. Herniation was characterized by intrathoracic protrusion of the right liver and other abdominal viscera, left intrahepatic biliary dilatation, and anicteric cholestasis. Authors report two cases of childhood chronic pancreatitis, causing severe symptoms and common bile duct stenosis with cholestasis. Both patients had to be operated on. Chronic pancreatitis with calcification led to significant common bile duct stenosis in a 13 years old girl.
