We described the macroscopic anatomy of the intestines and their peritoneal folds of five adult pampas deer (Ozotoceros bezoarticus), a cervid species considered to ingest a high proportion of grass in its natural diet. The mean (+/-SD) body weight was 17 (+/-2) kg. Dai-kenchu-to (DKT) has attracted attention as a drug that improves the symptoms of postoperative ileus. However, the detailed mechanism of its action still remains unknown. Early alterations in normal semiconservative and repair DNA synthesis were determined in gastrointestinal tissues of HalCR mice following administration of the colon carcinogen 1,2-dimethylhydrazine (DMH). This study investigated absorption of nevirapine (NVP) from targeted sites of the gastrointestinal tract using remotely activated capsules and gamma scintigraphy. A total of 24 participants were randomized to receive 50 mg NVP orally as a suspension or via remotely activated capsules for release into the ascending colon. The 24 participants were then rerandomized into parallel groups of n = 8 for drug release into the ileum, jejunum, or descending colon. Axillary lymph node metastasis in colon cancer is extremely rare. We describe the FDG PET/CT findings in a 61-year-old woman who presented with a mass in the right axilla, which revealed irregular thickening of the ascending colon wall, as well as multiple enlarged lymph nodes in the ileocecal mesentery, para-aortic region, and right axilla with higher uptake of FDG. Ascending colon carcinoma with lymph node metastasis in the right axilla was confirmed by pathological examination.
