This paper describes the clinical and histopathological features of an outbreak of cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas in a flock of Berrichon du Cher sheep in south-western Spain. The outbreak was unusual because of the high prevalence recorded (15 to 18 per cent over the last two years) and because the majority of the lesions involved the eyelids. Adult and old sheep were the most commonly affected, and the largest numbers of cases were recorded in summer and autumn. The time course of drug adsorption and desorption, exposure of soft contact lenses in a drug solution needed for maximum saturation, and the duration of lens wearing during which the drug was transported from the lens and exhibited its therapeutic activity were studied. The possibility of using computer simulation for the choice of material, carrier for the drug (myramistin hydrochloride), was evaluated. Due to use of this method, the volume of experimental studies could be reduced and the data systematized.

An epidemic follicular conjunctivitis affecting teen-aged females has been studied. Moraxella lacunata was isolated from 11% of the patients, a frequency far above the rate found in other types of chronic conjunctivitis. The condition is suggested to be the chronic follicular conjunctivitis (Axenfeld) due to Moraxella lacunata.

Ranaviruses are double-stranded DNA viruses that infect amphibians, fish, and reptiles, causing global epidemics in some amphibian populations. It is important to identify new species that may be susceptible to the disease, particularly if they reside in the same habitat as other at-risk species. PURPOSE: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of am implanted Boston keratoprosthesis Type I (Boston KPro).
METHODS: Six eyes of 6 patients who had experienced repeated graft failure underwent Boston KPro implantation and were followed up for over one year. The mean age of the patients was 62.7 years. There were 3 eyes with glaucoma and 1 eye with fungal keratitis preoperatively. Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), complications, and postoperative treatment were evaluated.
RESULTS: Mean follow-up duration was 33.9 months. Preoperative BCVA of hand motion to 0.02 improved to counting
