The Impact of "The Magic Glasses Opisthorchiasis" on Schoolchildren's Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices Surrounding Opisthorchis viverrini in the Lower Mekong Basin, a Cluster-Randomised Controlled Trial.

Opisthorchis viverrini (OV) is a liver fluke endemic to the Lower Mekong Basin. Infections often begin in childhood and are causally linked to cholangiocarcinoma, an often-fatal bile duct cancer. Anthelmintic treatment is the primary control strategy, but infection can recur. Therefore, additional strategies are needed. This study assessed the impact of "The Magic Glasses Opisthorchiasis" (MGO), a cartoon-based intervention, on schoolchildren's OV-related knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP). A cluster (school)-randomised controlled trial was conducted in Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. Clust

Effects of gain- and loss-framed messages on the sun safety behavior of adolescents: the moderating role of risk perceptions.

This study examined how message framing effects can be moderated by two types of risk: (a) perceived effectiveness in preventing a risk and (b) perceived susceptibility to the risk. The results indicate that the perceived effectiveness moderated framing effects on the intention to use sunscreen such that a loss-framed message was more effective when perceived effectiveness was low, whereas a gain-framed message was more effective when perceived effectiveness was high. In addition, perceived susceptibility to skin cancer moderated framing effects on the intention to use sunscreen and the intent

Barriers to implementing foot care.

The foot of diabetic patients can be affected by ulceration, infection, and gangrene and is a source of major morbidity and mortality; yet, it has been neglected by health-care services. In recent years, however, the level of interest and knowledge has grown considerably, with an improving evidence base for clinical practice and the development of international consensus and guidelines that define strategies for diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Nevertheless, there are numerous barriers to the implementation of universal good care, involving attitudes and beliefs of doctors, other health-ca

Implementing recovery-oriented interventions with staff in a psychiatric hospital: A mixed-methods study.

WHAT IS KNOWN ON THE SUBJECT?: Recovery-oriented care is a means of providing mental health treatment, focused on the patient's individual needs and active involvement in one's own care. However, little is known about how prenatal genetic counselors approach conversations about these emerging treatment options. This study aims to explore prenatal genetic counselors' attitudes, beliefs, and practices in discussing postnatal DMD treatment options with their patients. Board-certifi
