We present a bio-photoelectrode made of photosystem I complex (PSI) of cyanobacteria, Thermosynechococcus elongatus, and molecular wires. The newly designed and synthesized molecular wire similar to vitamin K1 (VK1) has a naphthoquinone moiety that can connect to PSI, and a terpyridine moiety for connection to a Co(II) ion. Fever of unknown origin (FUO) refers to fevers of > 101 °F that persist for > 3 weeks and remain undiagnosed after a focused inpatient or outpatient workup. FUO may be due to infectious, malignant/neoplastic, rheumatic/inflammatory, or miscellaneous disorders. The FUO category determines the focus of the diagnostic workup. 13 patients with idiopathic aplastic anaemia in remission for more than 2 years were examined to define the haemopoietic status by means of bone marrow scintigraphy, ferrokinetics and bone marrow culture for haemopoietic progenitor cells. Electrocatalytic water oxidation occurs on high surface area, nanocrystalline ITO (nanoITO) surface-derivatized by phosphonate-binding of the catalyst [Ru(Mebimpy)(4,4'-((HO)(2)OPCH(2))(2)bpy)(OH(2))](2+) (Mebimpy is 2,6-bis(1-methylbenzimidazol-2-yl)pyridine; bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine). Anisotropy is a basic property of single crystals. Dissimilar facets/surfaces have different geometric and electronic structure that results in dissimilar functional properties. The calculations of EPR parameters (g factors g||, g(perpendicular) and zero-field splitting D) related to the impurity structures have been made from the high-order perturbation formulas for Cr(3+) ions in trigonal KSc(MoO(4))(2), RbIn(MoO(4))(2) and RbSc(MoO(4))(2) crystals. It is found that the MO(6) octahedra in these crystals change from the trigonal elongation in the pure crystals to the trigonal compression in the impurity centers. The results are discussed.

High-dose radiation therapy for liver metastases of gastrointestinal malignancies might be improved by combining external-beam irradiation and radioimmunoglobulin therapy. We studied the liver toxicity of the proposed combination in healthy beagle dogs.
