Three cases of oesophago-pleural fistula are presented. Two resulted from foreign body perforation of the oesophagus and one followed left lower lobectomy for bronchiectasis. All three presented late; the time lapse ranged from 6 days to 2 months. An initial course of conservative treatment was given to all three patients. Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) normally use hydroxy-group-containing residues in the N-terminal domain of the enzyme for stabilizing the activated form of the co-substrate, glutathione.
