INTRODUCTION: Recurrent nevus (RN) is a cutaneous benign tumour with similarities with malignant lesions. Typically, it occurs after a partial resection of commun-acquired nevus. Its incidence varies from 0.3 to 27% according to the studies. We present here a pediatric case of a pagetoid form of a recurrent nevus occurring from a congenital nevus.
CASE REPORT: A congenital nevus was removed from a 9-month-old girl. Pathologists concluded to a commun-acquired nevus of complete exeresis. Two other cutaneous lesions appeared and we decided to realise a total removal. Analysis showed a recurrent

A 17-year-old adolescent girl attended our clinic for a scheduled review of her nevus lesions. She complained about a lesion on the posterior region of her neck, which she had noticed approximately 2 years before. Even though it had not caused any symptoms, its appearance had changed according to her parents. The patient's medical history, as well as that of her family's, was unremarkable.

BACKGROUND: The diameter of congenital melanocytic nevi (CMN) has served as the lone criterion for determining risks of adverse outcomes such as melanoma. A standardized description of additional morphologic features is needed.
OBJECTIVE: We sought to develop a consensus-based standardized categorization of cutaneous features of CMN and to test agreement among experts on the proposed scheme.
METHODS: An interdisciplinary group of experts in the field of CMN was surveyed using a detailed questionnaire. Applicability of the expert consensus-based scheme was tested for interobserver agreement.

Conjunctival melanocytic tumors represent a spectrum of pigmented tumors that include benign, premalignant and malignant tumors. Conjunctival nevi are the most common pigmented tumors and are typically found in the interpalpebral bulbar conjunctiva. These lesions usually contain fine clear cysts on slit lamp biomicroscopy. Primary acquired melanosis includes lesions from increased melanin pigmentation without proliferation of melanocytes to melanoma in situ. In the new classification system, the idea is to use the term 'primary acquired melanosis' only as a clinical description, highlighting t

Usually speckled lentiginous nevus or nevus spilus is a small solitary lesion consisting of a light tan patch with numerous dark brown macules or papules (or both) within it. It is occasionally associated with complex birth defects such as phacomatosis pigmentovascularis, phacomatosis pigmentokeratotica, or speckled lentiginous nevus syndrome. Uncommon presentations include large segmental lesions that may or may not be systematized and can sometimes be associated with other anomalies. We hereby report a 6-year-old Caucasian patient with systematized nevus spilus associated with torsion dyston

BACKGROUND: Radiation therapy can cause acute and chronic damage of the skin.
OBJECTIVE: A 71-year-old woman presented with an atrophic and sclerotic plaque at a site previously treated with radiotherapy because of lung cancer. Inside the area affected by chronic radiodermatitis, she reported that a preexisting pigmentary lesion had gradually undergone morphologic changes after radiation therapy.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: On dermoscopy, the lesion showed features highly suspicious for malignant melanoma. The lesion was excised and examined histopathologically.
RESULTS: The histopathologic diag

PURPOSE: To report bilateral optic disk melanocytoma in a healthy infant,
METHOD: Case report.
RESULTS: A 10-month-old healthy boy presented with intermittent right exotropia. Dilated fundus examination showed a heavily pigmented mass within both optic disks. The optic disks were hypoplastic, and there was diffuse retinal pigment epithelial mottling around the optic disks. Systemic evaluation including thyroid function tests, pituitary gland hormone levels, adrenal gland hormone levels, and magnetic resonance imaging of the brain revealed normal findings. After 1 year, the lesions remained s
