Acute appendicitis is usually encountered clinically as acute abdomen. Typical cases are easy to diagnose, but sometimes it is very difficult to make a diagnosis in atypical cases. The objective of the study was to determine the diagnostic accuracy in patient of clinically diagnosed acute appendicitis. INTRODUCTION: Anal abscess is a pus collection localized in some of the regions around the anus and rectum. We reviewed the experience in the management of abscesses in Coloproctology Unit at the Gastroenterology Service in the General Hospital of Mexico.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: This is a retrospective, longitudinal and descriptive study in patients diagnosed as carriers of an anal abscess during the period from January 1998 to December 2002.
RESULTS: During this period, 9,233 first consultations took place, 241 fulfilled inclusion criteria: 197 (81.74%) were male and 44 (18.25%) were female.

Nasolacrimal duct obstruction (NLDO) is a relatively common clinical problem. Debate continues about optimal management. Intervening early and intervening late each have advantages and disadvantages. We reviewed the world literature on NLDO. We assembled information on occurrence, natural history, and results of treatment. BACKGROUND: Collagenase Clostridium histolyticum (CCH), also know as Xiaflex, with penile modeling is considered to be the gold standard non-surgical option for management of Peyronie's disease and is known to be safe and efficacious. Corporal rupture is a rare but known adverse event of CCH treatment, however there are limited studies describing corporal herniation without rupture. Here we present a patient who experienced a rare complication following CCH injections for Peyronie's disease: lateral herniation of the tunica albuginea in the setting of a dorsal penile plaque.
