PURPOSE OF REVIEW: The purpose of this review is to describe the nonclassical symptoms and manifestations occurring in patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), both from a standpoint of prevalence and in terms of clinical relevance. Particular emphasis will be given to nightmares, comorbid insomnia, restless legs syndrome and periodic limb movement disorder, bruxism, morning headache, nocturia, acid reflux, chronic cough and dysphagia.

A 61-year-old man presented with a 1-month history of reduced vision, redness and pain in the right eye. Examination revealed a bandage contact lens (BCL) in situ with diffuse, pigmented deposits. Glycogen storage disease type IV (GSD IV) is a rare inborn metabolic disorder characterized by the accumulation of amylopectin-like glycogen in the liver or other organs. We report a case of alveolar soft part sarcoma (ASPS) in a 68-year-old woman's uterine cervix. Macroscopic observation revealed an unencapsulated lesion confined to the cervical stroma, measuring 10 mm in diameter. Onychomycosis is a frequently treated fungal infection of the nail plate with morbidity in high-risk populations. The diagnosis often relies on histopathologic analysis of nail plate specimens with the assistance of special stains.
