Fibroepithelial polyp of the vagina is a rare lesion. Although benign, it can be confused with malignant connective tissue lesions because of its bizarre histology. Treatment is simple local excision. Recurrence is extremely uncommon. Five cases are reported.

CONTEXT: The 2001 Bethesda System for the reporting of cervical cytology specimens and the use of new liquid-based and human papillomavirus testing technologies have led to changes in cervical cytology reporting practices.
OBJECTIVES: To analyze current laboratory reporting practices using Bethesda 2001 terminology and to compare results with previous survey data from 1996.
DESIGN: Questionnaire survey mailed to 1751 laboratories in mid-2003.

The study was aimed at clinically downstaging cancer of the cervix during a cytological Screening Programme to find out whether such a strategy may help in yielding a large number of early cases of cancer. A cohort of 6,178 women with different cervical lesions were cytologically examined from April 1971 at Queen Mary's Hospital, Lucknow, India. The 8,718 asymptomatic women with healthy cervices were taken as controls. The incidence of cervical dysplasia and malignancy in the study group was found to be 11.2% and 1.9%, which was statistically highly significant compared to control values of 3.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the pathogenesis, high risk factors, clinical characteristics, methods of diagnosis and treatment, and prognosis of vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (VAIN).
METHODS: The clinical data of thirteen cases of VAIN treated in Zhejiang Provincial Cancer Hospital dated Mar. 2002 through Dec. 2008 were reviewed and analyzed retrospectively.

Simian agent 8 (SA8) is an alphaherpesvirus that was first reported as a spontaneous natural infection in a captive baboon colony in 1988. It was first isolated from an African vervet monkey in 1958 and was classified as a simian agent.
