Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is the most common chronic inflammatory arthritis and a leading cause of disability worldwide. However, several diseases may mimic RA, particularly in patients presenting with polyarticular pain or seronegative inflammatory arthritis. Misdiagnosis may result in inappropriate immunosuppressive therapy and delayed treatment of the underlying disease. Recognizing these mimickers remains a critical challenge in rheumatology practice. We conducted a retrospective case series of patients evaluated at a tertiary rheumatology center between January 2021 and December 2025. Pat…

We report Ureaplasma parvum septic arthritis in lipopolysaccharide-responsive and beige-like anchor protein deficiency during rituximab-based chemotherapy for relapsed Hodgkin lymphoma. This case highlights culture-negative infection mimicking autoimmune arthritis and supports early 16S ribosomal RNA PCR in immunocompromised patients with a primary immune regulatory disorder.

Metabolic reprogramming of immune cells modulates their function and reduces the severity of autoimmune diseases. However, the long-term effects of the metabolically reprogrammed cells, specifically in the case of immune flare-ups, need to be examined. Herein, a re-induction rheumatoid arthritis (RA) mouse model was developed by injecting T-cells from RA mice into drug-treated mice to recapitulate the effects of T-cell-mediated inflammation and mimic immune flare-ups. Immune metabolic modulator paKG(PFK15 + bc2) microparticles (MPs) were shown to reduce clinical symptoms of RA in collagen-indu…

Psoriatic arthritis is a chronic debilitating autoimmune condition, and when diagnosed in patients before the age of eighteen, it is considered pediatric polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis. Monoarticular or polyarticular psoriatic arthritis can be distinguished from other arthropathies by its unique cutaneous manifestations. With numerous treatments already in clinical practice, there are numerous options for treatment. The current literature indicates an elevated level of tumor necrosis factor is present in the epidermis of patients with psoriatic arthritis when compared with the gen…

Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a chronic inflammatory joint disease, and the diagnosis is quite difficult due to the unavailability of reliable clinical markers. This study aimed to investigate the fecal metabolites in PsA by comparison with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and to identify potential diagnostic biomarkers for PsA. The metabolic profiles of the fecal samples from 27 PsA and 29 RA patients and also 36 healthy controls (HCs) were performed on ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with hybrid triple quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UHPLC-Q-TOF-MS). And differenti…

BACKGROUND: Psoriatic arthritis (PSA) is a form of immune-mediated inflammatory arthritis that predominantly begins with enthesitis. Studying the gut microbiota of PSA patients may offer new insights into the pathogenesis of enthesitis, compared to other arthritis. We designed a prospective study to examine gut microbiome of patients with PSA, primarily with enthesitis and dactylitis, and compared the data with other undifferentiated types of arthritis (NO PSA) patients, without enthesitis or dactylitis.
METHODS: We enrolled 9 PSA patients and 10 NO PSA patients in this study. We excluded rhe…
