Female urethral diverticula are rare, benign epithelium-lined outpouchings of the female urethra. Patients can present with a multitude of symptoms, most commonly urinary incontinence, recurrent UTIs and dyspareunia. These presenting symptoms are often confused with other diagnoses leading to delayed diagnosis or misdiagnosis. Diagnosis and preoperative assessment of bladder function is most accurate using a combination of clinical examination, T2-weighted postvoid MRI and videocystometrography. Hypospadias is one of the morphological and functional alterations of the internal urogenital organs under the influence of androgen deficiency. In the time period 1974-1998 a total of 823 cases of hypospadias were surgically treated and the findings of the preoperative X-ray diagnostics with micturating cystourethrogram (MCU) and urethrocystogram (UCG) as well as urethrocystoscopy were analyzed. OBJECTIVE: We report three new cases of müllerianosis of the urinary bladder.
METHODS: We present three cases of women in the third decade of life, two of them presenting hematuria and pelvic pain, and the third was referred to perform a recto-vaginal endometriosis surgical procedure. Diagnosis was made by ultrasound and cystoscopy in the first and second case, and by CT scan in the endometriosis case.

Cases in which foreign bodies have been inserted into the vagina predominately occur in the pediatric population. This report presents the case of an adult woman with a retained foreign body for 13 years. A duplicated ureter suggestive of a Mullerian anomaly was incidentally identified on intraoperative cystoscopy. Mullerian anomalies may be associated with complex patient presentations and are associated with reproductive implications that should be discussed based on patient-specific characteristics.

A misplaced urinary catheter within the bulbar urethra in a medically complex patient could not be removed due to an undeflatable balloon. Simple bedside measures including flexible cystoscopy were unsuccessful in deflating this. Here we describe a simple and quick solution to this stressful situation using a transperineal ultrasound guided puncture. This method should be considered when the retained traumatic catheter lies distal to the prostate gland.

A 69 year-old male with a past medical history of hypertension, diabetes, and atrial fibrillation presented to the Urology clinic with asymptomatic microscopic hematuria. His work up for hematuria included a negative cystoscopy and a computed tomography (CT) scan, which revealed what appeared to be a fluid collection around the left kidney with a perinephric infiltrative mass and two para-aortic enlarged lymph nodes.

Isolated vasculitis involving the bladder is rare. We describe a case of irritative voiding and hematuria with slightly elevated inflammatory parameters. In order to exclude a neoplastic process we performed cystoscopy and computed tomography. Secondary systemic causes such as lupus erythematosus or rheumatoid arthritis were excluded. Cytopathological examination of the biopsies showed necrotizing vasculitis of the small bladder vessels, which responded to treatment with steroids and cyclophosphamide.

Breast cancer metastatic to the bladder has rarely been reported in the literature. A patient presented to our institution with pathologically confirmed breast cancer metastatic to the bladder with renal pelvis involvement as seen on retrograde pyelography. We believe cystoscopy with biopsy and fulguration to be the treatment of choice for breast cancer that has metastasized to the bladder because of the low rate of survival in patients with hematuria related to metastatic breast cancer.

We report the thirteenth case of primary leiomyosarcoma of the ureter, as well as a summary of previous cases. It is the first case reported to be studied by computer tomography and immunohistochemical procedure. Further evaluation included intravenous pyelogram, cystoscopy with retrograde pyelogram, cell block for cytology, and electron microscopy. Leiomyosarcoma is a very rare disease that is difficult to diagnose. It has a very poor 5-year disease-specific survival.

The authors report the first instance of a patient with seminoma probably arising from the prostate but also involving the bladder. A 58-year-old man presented with symptoms and signs of prostatic enlargement. Cystoscopy revealed a fungating neoplasm, probably arising from the prostate and surrounding the bladder neck. The biopsy was consistent with the diagnosis of seminoma. The patient experienced complete remission after chemotherapy with bleomycin, cisplatin, and etoposide.

Six patients are described, including five women with a history of many years of refractory dysuria symptoms caused by neurosis. Four patients were elementary school teachers. In none patient changes were found in numerous general and bacteriological urine analyses nor in urography and cystoscopy, and in women also in gynaecological examination. The removal of neurosis producing factors caused a regression of dysuria symptoms in three patients.

The authors report their experience in the diagnosis and treatment of 10 cases of vesicosigmoidal fistula. In accordance with the literature the most frequent presenting symptoms were of urinary origin. For the diagnosis urography was helpful, cystography and cystoscopy allowed the observation of a fistulous orifice, while barium enema confirmed, or removed probable doubts about the nature of the intestinal pathology. Surgical treatment varied from one-stage to multi-stage procedures.
