This paper examines means of preventing maceration while ensuring a moist wound-healing environment and looks at management techniques if the condition develops.

Pathologic features of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection (M. pneumonia) are generally non-specific, and the literature regarding the pathologic features of M. pneumonia with intraalveolar exudates is limited. PURPOSE: To report an association between central serous retinopathy and Weber-Christian disease.
METHODS: A case report.
RESULTS: Central serous retinopathy was noticed in a patient with Weber-Christian disease possibly secondary to vasculitis involving the choriocapillaris.
CONCLUSIONS: Central serous retinopathy may be associated with an uncommon systemic condition like Weber-Christian disease.

Three cases of transient osteoporosis of the hip and their ultrasonographic findings are presented. Transient osteoporosis of the hip is an uncommon condition with pain in the hip area and limping. The diagnosis is supported by local radiological osteoporosis and other imaging methods. Exclusion of more common entities is required. Effusion of the hip joint detected by ultrasonography is also related to this condition, which must be taken into account in patients with hip pain.

OBJECTIVE: To determine the value of ultrasonography in detection of early alterations and subsequent evolution of hip joint disease in patients with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA).
METHODS: Hip joints of 53 patients were evaluated clinically, by conventional radiography and ultrasound. Ten children free of signs/symptoms related to rheumatic diseases were chosen as a control group. Nine patients were followed up 28 months after baseline examinations. The clinical, radiological, and ultrasound evaluations were repeated.

In this study, cytologic smears from 161 women presenting with persistent inflammation were reviewed and the cytologic diagnoses compared with the colposcopic and biopsy findings. When colposcopy was performed and information was available for evaluation (102 cases), 62.7% (64 cases) had abnormal colposcopic findings requiring treatment.
