Amyloidosis is characterized by systemic or local deposition of amyloid fibrils outside organs and tissues. Amyloidosis is rarely seen on cornea. A 30-year-old woman patient had had trichiasis in both eyes for 8 years. Trichiasis was observed, which touched the cornea. Trichomegaly is a rare side effect of epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitors. We present here 4 patients who treated with cetuximab (an epidermal growth factor receptor inhibitor) for metastatic colorectal cancer. All of the cases were treated with cetuximab 500 mg/m biweekly in combination protocol. The mean period from the start of the treatment until the development the trichomegaly was 4.75 (3-6) months. PURPOSE: To describe a patient with a tolerated cilium in the anterior chamber.
METHODS: A 15-year-old girl, referred with a 5-year trauma history, was examined. A cilium was noted in the anterior chamber without any inflammation during routine ophthalmological examination.
RESULTS: The cilium was removed surgically and the prognosis was excellent.
CONCLUSION: The decision to remove a cilium surgically is controversial and must be based on the individual clinical examination.

Trichiasis/Entropion are the severe consequences of chronic trachoma during early life. Blindness and vision loss is preventable with timely lid surgery to correct trichiasis. In a trachoma hyperendemic region of Central Tanzania, a two year follow-up survey was conducted among 205 women with trichiasis to determine the proportion who had had surgery and the barriers to having surgery. There has been no published investigation into the reasons why some patients with severe trachomatous conjunctival scarring develop entropion and trichiasis while others do not. In a population of leprosy patients with severe trachomatous conjunctival scarring the authors found that lagophthalmos correlated with the absence of trichiasis and entropion. We suggest that orbicularis oculi muscle function, as well as other anatomical variations among individuals, may contribute to the development of trachomatous entropion and trichiasis in patients with conjunctival scarring.
