PURPOSE: To report a clinical case of optic nerve compression by supraclinoidal internal carotid artery associated with optociliary shunt vessels.
METHODS: A 78-year-old woman with the clinical triad of left visual loss, ipsilateral optic disc pallor, and retinochoroidal (optociliary) shunt vessels is reported. She complained of loss of vision in the left eye of 2 years'' duration.

We describe the case of a 59-year-old Caucasian male who presented to the outpatient clinic with intractable hiccups, upper abdominal pain, repeated bouts of vomiting, and stiff neck. PURPOSE: To describe displacement of the globe into the ethmoid sinus after an orbital trauma.
METHOD: Case report. A 58-year-old man sustained trauma of the left eye and orbit, which resulted in displacement of the globe into the ethmoid sinus. One day after injury, surgery was performed to restore the intact globe into position within the orbit.
RESULTS: After operation, the globe held in its anatomical site, and 10 months after surgery the visual acuity was 20/100, slight pallor of the optic disk was present, and there was no limitation of the horizontal and vertical ductions.

The analgesic effect of a lidocaine/prilocaine cream (EMLA) for the curettage of molluscum contagiosum was evaluated in 55 children aged 3-14 years. Five to 25 molluscs per child were covered with a maximum of 10 g EMLA cream one hour before the operation. The pain was rated as either none or slight by 93% of the children while the physician's assessment was 96%.
