The surgical incidence of cystic echinococcosis (CE) due to Echinococcus granulosus was investigated in hospitals of the West Bank, Palestinian Authority between January 1990 and December 1997. Serum samples from school-children in Yata town, which showed the highest surgical incidence, were tested for anti-hydatid antibodies. Familial aggregation of stomach cancer has long been observed. The effect on disease risk of family history and its magnitude according to the type of affected relatives, however, is not well known. METHODS: Suicide trends by method, age, gender, and race were obtained from Virginia's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner's annual reports.

Helminth infections in wood mice (n = 483), trapped over a period of 26 years in the woods surrounding Malham Tarn in North Yorkshire, were analysed.
