Bladder cells are constantly exposed to multiple xenobiotics and bioactive metabolites. In addition to this challenging chemical environment, they are also exposed to shear stress originating from urine and interstitial fluids. Hence, physiological function of bladder cells relies on a high biochemical and biomechanical adaptive competence, which, in turn, is largely supported via autophagy-related mechanisms. Interdisciplinary managed case of a 29-Year-old patient with massive condylomas of the vulva and papillary squamous cell metaplasia of the bladder, leads after years of chronic cystitis and obstruction with meatus plastic and laser treatment to cystectomy with conduit and partial vulvectomy. Müllerianosis is a rare benign lesion of the urinary bladder, which is constituted by two or more of the Müllerian-duct-derived tissues. We report a 45-year-old perimenopausal multiparous woman presenting with occasional episodes of dysuria and lower abdominal discomfort of recent duration. A case of villous adenoma of the urinary bladder is described. The patient, a 57-year-old Chinese male, presented with a long-term history of urethral stricture disease secondary to gonorrhea urethritis. On cystoscopic examination, a mucin-secreting papillary tumor, measuring 3 x 2 cm was noted at the bladder neck. Microscopically, there were papillary fronds of mucin-secreting columnar cells with varying degrees of piling up. The relationships between chronic irritation of the urinary bladder, cystitis glandularis, intestinal metaplasia, villous adenoma and adenocarcinoma were discussed.

AG-NOR was determined in the nuclei of thirty-five urinary bladder lesions, varying between benign and malignant schistosomal lesions and non schistosomal ones. The results showed that the assessment of AG-NOR in urinary bladder lesions can be valuable in distinguishing benign from malignant lesions of the urinary bladder and can be used as a prognostic parameter.

An effectively functioning artificial bladder would be useful after cystectomy because of the ease of insertion and the availability to all patients. In this report, we describe a new design concept based on negative pressure drainage of the kidneys and active voiding, and we present the results of testing this device. Although previous prosthetic bladders have had difficulties with renal failure from hydronephrosis, infection from retention of urine, and encrustation of the luminal surface, the current artificial complete bladder system addresses these problems.

We present a case of a cirrhotic patient suffering an intradiverticular squamous carcinoma with perforation to the peritoneal cavity, diagnosed after performance of an emergency laparotomy due to acute abdomen with infaust evolution.
